7 Facts About Myself

1. I tend to watch darker shows (Steins;Gate, Broadchurch, Death Note, The X-Files, Attack on Titan, Person of Interest, Tokyo Ghoul) and read darker books/webcomics (Stalking Jack the Ripper, The Shining, Bastard, Hooky, Gatekeeper, Vanishing Girls, American Ghost Jack), but inexplicably develop a love of lighter shows (Ouran Highschool Host Club, The Flash) and books/webcomics (Saphie the One Eyed Cat, Miss Abbott and the Doctor)

2. 2017 is proving to become an eventful year for reading for me. I have either started or finished The Infernal Devices, The Mortal Instruments, A Study in Charlotte, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Jurassic Park, and The Dead Zone.

3. My two latest addictions would be the amazing webcomics American Ghost Jack and Winter Woods. I’ve made a post that includes them. You can find it here.

4. I’m really behind on reviews for books, movies, and Webtoons. But you can expect review of A Study in Charlotte, the first three Mortal Instruments books (unless I should just read all six and then make a review) Guardians of the Galaxy, Bastard, American Ghost Jack, and Where Tangents Meet (and more!) soon.

5. My TV show To be Watched list is steadily growing: right now, it includes (live action)  Torchwood (it’s being taken off Netflix! No!), Lie to Me, and the third season of Broadchurch. For anime, it includes Monster, Erased, Durarara, Paranoia Agent, Noragami (I see that Icebreaker694 seems to really like it, and she seems to have good taste in shows) and surprisingly, Snow White with the Red Hair (remember what I said about developing the random desire to watch lighter shows?)

6. I also have a big reading TBR: The rest of the Mortal Instruments series, The Last of August, Enders, Cinder, The Outsiders, Doctor Sleep, The Attack On Titan manga, the Tokyo Ghoul manga (I hope it resolves some of the plot holes I noticed in the anime), and many more that I can’t think of.

7. I have a Doctor Who calendar…but since I haven’t gotten a new calendar for years, I still use it…it’s from 2015. I’m pathetic.

  1. Awe! Thanks for nominating me! I am honoured! I feel awful for saying this but I don’t really participate in these tags/awards. I already have the next week’s posts already planned. Sorry! I hope you understand!

  2. Using an old Dr Who calendar sort of fits the theme. You can look at it and pretend you have traveled to the past.

Death Note is a brill show indeed. If you like that style of dark series you may want to check out Mirai Nikki (Future Diary.) From your “to watch” list I recommend Durarara season one.

    1. Huh…didn’t think about it that way. If anyone questions my calendar, I shall use that reasoning to explain it!
I’ve heard of Mirai Nikki, but sadly, it doesn’t seem to be quite my type of show. I may check out an episode or two out though, just to make sure. And thanks for recommending Durarara; I was having a hard time choosing between all those shows.

  3. Congratulations! And thanks for the shoutout. I’m current watching Durarara and I’m really enjoying it so far. I really like it’s opening.
Even I have been wanting to read TG manga for ages, since everyone seems to think it’s better than the anime. Hopefully I’ll read it soon. Even I tend to watch lighter shows along with the darker ones.

    1. Thanks! Glad to hear that about Durarara. I’ve heard it’s a genre blend of mystery, thriller, paranormal, and has a lot of characters, so I thought it sounds very interesting.
I know! I’ve heard everyone say that TG manga is much, much better, as it as better development and characters arcs. So I’ve wanted to read it for a while.

      1. I really like the characters of Durarara. But what actually got me interested in the anime was the opening. I’m one of those people who judge an anime by its opening lol. And yes I love shows with lots of characters. The characters are the best part of this show.
Same. I just can’t seem to find the time to read it. I had started reading TG re as well but just cannot find the time!

      2. The opening is great. I hope you enjoy it as well as the anime, whenever you get to see it.
It is pretty intriguing so far. I’m enjoying Haise Sasaki and his adventures, but I do miss the old Anteiku squad.

  4. Congradulations on the award! I really enjoyed reading your answers and loved the anime shows you mentioned: Death Note, Tokyo Ghoul (I’m doing the same thing you are and looking to read the manga), Noragami, Erased (though the 2nd part dropped off a bit so I’m looking for the manga), and, surprisingly for me as well shows like Snow White With the Red Hair and Ouran I actually really enjoyed. I haven’t seen/heard of Durarara, Paranoia Agent, Steins; Gate, or Broadchurch yet. I just started watching Person’s of Interest after reading one of your other posts though and am loving it so far! 😊

    1. Yeah, I’ve heard good things about the manga. And I’m looking forward to Noragami and Erased when I have the time! And that’s good to hear; I dunno, I was just randomly interested in Snow White with the Red Hair. Oof, Steins;Gate is amazing;’you have to watch it ASAP! And I haven’t seen Durarara or Paranoia Agent yet, but I want too! And the first two seasons of Broadchurch are on Netflix… It’s so binge worthy. And yay, you started Person of Interest? YAY! That’s still one of my favorite shows ever!

      1. I can’t wait till you start them! Lol, no worries steins;gate at the top 10 of my to-watch list. Really? That makes things easier. I’ll give Broadchurch a try once I finish with Person of Interest which I’m loving so far 😊
