Harry Potter Book Tag

Harry Potter was one of the first book series I ever read, and even almost ten years later, it still stands out. Thanks Sophie @ Blame it on Chocolate for nominating me for this very fun tag! She has amazing book reviews and tags.

The Harry Potter book tag was created by Trang and Lashaan @Bookidote. Also, in the future, I may use the graphics. So stay tuned.

QUESTIONS:

Flagrate, A Writing Charm: A book you found the theme interesting, but you’d like to rewrite it.

The Selection series by Keira Cass. I really liked the idea, but I felt like the execution and characters needed some work.

Alohomora, Unlocking charm: The first book in a series that got you hooked.

Any book in a series, honestly. Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone, Clockwork Angel, The Lightning Thief, The Angel Experiment, Clockwork Scarab…too many to count.

Accio, summoning spell: A book you wish you could have right now.

The Six of Crows, by Leigh Bardugo. Ugh, I’ve heard so many good things about it, and the concept sounds amazing!

Avada Kedavra, A Killer Book. Both senses. Take it as you like it.

Vanishing Girls by Lauren Oliver. Dang, that started off so nice…then it was twisted. On reread, it was great!

Confundo, a book that you found really confusing.

Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. The sentences felt like a bunch of random words strung together into semi-coherent sentences. I just couldn’t understand it.

Expecto Patronum, your spirit animal book.

I don’t know. I love a lot of books, but…I dunno what would count as a spirit animal book.

Sectumsempra, Dark charm: a dark, twisted book.

I’m cheating, but the Webtoon Bastard. Dang, was that a twisted ride.

Aparecium, revealing charm: A book that surprised you in a great way, reveals to be more than it is

The Infernal Devices series. I thought this would be a fun, fluffy read, but it turned into a feels ride. I became so attached to the characters.

I TAG:

Well, I’m not tagging anyone this time around because I feel as though everyone has done this tag. But if you haven’t done this tag….YOU’RE TAGGED!

Also, I need some suggestions on things to post about besides tags, reviews, and top tens lists. I’m beginning the last arc of my Analyzing Women’s Strength in Fiction series, and I’m scared of writer’s block. So please, can you guys give me so suggestions?

  1. This was a lovely read, Kate!
I’m kind of surprised about The Election, I really thought there wasn’t much more than meets the eye. Glad to be wrong! And I really want to read The Infernal Devices. Unlike TMI, it seems to have a lot more positive reviews.
Unfortunately, I have no suggestions for you at this time, but I’ll be sure to let you know if something comes up 🙂 You’ve been doing a great job, though, so I don’t think you have anything to worry about!

    1. Thanks! I liked the idea of The Selection (it reminded me a little of the story of Esther), but it turned out to be more of a fluffy read. I wished it had more meat throughout. And TID is better than TMI; I’m reading the last book of TMI, and while it’s a good series, I found TID to be better written and I found myself becoming much more attached to the characters.
And that’s okay. I just don’t want to develop writer’s block with my blog. But thanks!

  2. Awesome post! I agree with you The Selection series. It has a lot of room for improvement. So Bastard is dark and twisted, eh? I love dark and twisty stuff. I’m so pumped to read it. I’ve only read the first book of the Infernal Devices series, and this one cruel person spoiled most of the rest of the story for me, so I’m not sure if whether I should continue it or not. Anyway, great post!

    1. Yeah, I really liked the concept of The Selection, but it needed so much improvement. And Bastard is so dark and twisted, it’s absolutely amazing. The best psychological thriller on Webtoon. And ugh! That person…how dare they spoil TID! Spoil something back for them. Be terrible about the spoiler. No one deserves to have TID spoiled for them. And yes, I think you should read it anyway. It’s like when Death Note was spoiled for me; I still liked it a lot anyway. And thanks!

      1. Well, I will just have to find time to read Bastard now.
I know, right? People who spoil the plot for others should be jailed. I absolutely HATE spoilers! And yet it seems as though I’m a spoiler magnet. But I have a policy of not spoiling things for anybody because then the cycle doesn’t ever stop! Those people will get what they deserve in one way or another.
You have no idea. Not only was death note spoiled for me, but also Code Geass, Sherlock and much more. I’ve since removed those people from my life. I’m at peace. 😂

      2. Yes. Yes you do. And Dr. Frost! (I have made some top comments lately there because of Sherlock references 😂)
UGH, spoilers. Hate them! That’s so sad! And ah, that makes sense. Good for you for not being as bitter as me.
        Wow, that’s a lot of spoilers…how sad! And lol…nice.

  3. I have this tagged scheduled later this week, and I was going to tag you until I found this post. 😄 That’s okay, you’re tagged in spirit!
Also Tapastic recently updated their site, but it took too long to load in a browser so I had to get the app. I found out that some authors allow the “free key” option either once, of multiple times. For the once, you get one free key and after you use it, you have to buy more with coins. And with the multiple options, you get a key (or you don’t) and you wait a certain amount of time before you’re allowed to have another one. I couldn’t find the “watch ads” option for free coins; to get free coins you have to refer a friend, but even those coins expire after a week. I’ll keep fiddling with the app a bit more to find some more info, but I’d thought I’d tell you before you downloaded the app! 🙂

  4. Lovely tag! I haven’t read The Selection! If you are looking for things to do aside from Tags, I’ve been trying to do some memes. One that I really love is Book Traveling Thursdays where you pick a book and explore all the different covers! It’s kind of cool!
