Possibly MIA for a few days + Announcement

So…Test week is just about here for my school. Y’know, SATs, PSATs, etc…

Needless to say, I’m gonna be busy for a few days. I may post something tomorrow, but for the most part, I have to study. I’ll try to respond to comments and like a few posts when I take a break, but for the most part I’ll be gone for a short period of time. I will be back soon, though, so no worries! 

But the tests on the other hand…


This’ll probably be what’ll happen.

Anyway, I have a few questions for you all. Do you have any suggestions for posts? I’m going to be working on the final  arc of Analyzing Women’s Strength in Fiction this month, and I’m worrying about the day I catch up to my tags, the day I have nothing to  review, and the day I run out of Top Ten list ideas. So yeah…do you have any suggestions?

And this is a bit of a complaint, but also a friendly reminder: today I ushered for my school’s play. My school has a very popular theater program; people who don’t know any students come to see the plays. I was the only student usher, and the student ushers have to clean up the auditorium to help out the janitors a little…

The auditorium is pretty darn big. And I was the only student usher. The director  told a few of the tech students to try help me clean, but hey, they have other things to do that need to be done. So I had to do the majority of the cleaning myself. I dunno if it’s the same in other theaters, but it’s that way at my school. 

I have a favor to ask: next time you see a play or musical, please be a little neater. Like, the wrappers for cupcakes on the floor I get. The popcorn fragments I get. I mean, popcorn is small. But tissues? Chewed gum? That’s just foul. I’m not accusing any of you of doing these things, but please remember, perhaps it isn’t just janitors who clean up. Maybe it’s other people too. I don’t know if it’s like this at other theater houses, but that’s how it is at my school.

Sorry for getting so heavy handed on the last bit. But anyway, wish me luck, and leave me suggestions in the comments!

    I’m sorry, but I don’t think I have any post suggestions at the moment. I’m having a hard time writing posts myself. But it shall pass. I’m sure you’ll return with some great ideas.
    And I can totally understand! I always try to be as neat as possible in any public place. Even the janitors have a hard time cleaning up the mess people usually make in theatres. Anyway, best of luck with everything!

And that’s all right. Writer’s block always sucks. But I have a suggestion for you, though: maybe you could continue the 30 days of anime meme you were doing? I was enjoying those.
That’s very good to hear! It was exhausting; I knew I was helping out the janitors, but it was still really tiring, and I didn’t get the logic of people; why throw chewed gum in the floor? I mean, even with amazing cleaning materials, that’s disgusting. And thanks so much again!

        No problem! Yes, I was thinking of writing more posts in that. I kind of just lost the flow. I don’t even remember when I stopped writing those posts. It’s just that I don’t find enough time to blog these days. Life’s been pretty hectic. I’ll try my best to write as much as I can though. Thanks for your suggestion. Always appreciate it. 😊
        Why would people even do that? I remember that one time i sat on a theatre seat that had chewing gum stuck on it. And that was the end of my beloved pants. People should seriously stop doing that. Anyways, you’re welcome!

      2. That makes sense. Life has been crazy for me too. And honestly, taking the time to read/watch stuff gives you more to blog about! So it’s helpful! And no problem.
        That’s horrible! And even worse than putting it on the ground, honestly. I mean, pants! Clothes! RIP Ava’s Pants. And it’s just unhygienic. And my teacher told me today some student ushers flaked out then. Sigh. People. But yeah, it was an amazing play, totally worth seeing. I’m just not gonna do a second volunteer time again, lol.

  2. Good luck on your tests! And ushering sounds incredibly hard (I mean by the cleaning part). Did you stick around to watch the play for free though? I once auditioned for my school play, but didn’t get it; there’s always next year. 😀 And people should be more considerate when leaving litter around, it goes for everywhere and not just the theater. As for posts, maybe you can start up posts about the anime shows you’ve seen! I bet it’d be really interesting! 🙂

    1. Thanks! Yeah, it was going good up until that part. And I did get to see the play, but I also get a free ticket to see it again! I hope. And it was amazing. And that’s okay; same here. There is always next year! Ditto, it’s so frustrating when people are such slobs. The litter doesn’t go away by magic, after all… And hmm. I may have to do more anime reviews (and TV/anime lists in general). Thanks!

  5. Good luck on your tests! And that usher thing? I had help from one other I had a similar experience once upon a time *shudders*. I ended up urging just about everyone I came across to be more mindful of the kind of garbage they leave behind.

    I’d give you a few suggestions but…I’ve been wondering the same thing lol. I’ve just recently committed to doing more than just book reviews at least once a month and learned how fun tags/award posts can be. So thinking about things like adding lists. adding in anime related posts, and monthly wrap-ups is totally new to me, but I’ll be sure to mention something if I do think about it!

  6. Good luck with your exams! Your posts will definitely be missed…
    And I totally share your outrage! Sometimes it feels like people act just like animals, only worse and on purpose. It makes my blood boil. I try my hardest to always pick up after myself and be mindful of others, and can’t understand why everyone can’t be the same. It would make things so much easier for our entire society… Ugh.

    1. Thanks so much! And yeah, it was just frustrating. I think I was too tired to be properly angry and kinda took it out on this post…😅 And since then I’ve been trying to be even more aware of what I’m doing. But man, I just don’t get it. There are trash cans…(sigh). And it would make things easier.
