The Seven Deadly Sins Book Tag

I was tagged by Icebreaker for this not as dark as it sounds tag! It was a lot of fun! (I didn’t even realize this was based off an anime…oh dear.)

Greed

WHAT IS YOUR MOST INEXPENSIVE BOOK? WHAT IS YOUR MOST EXPENSIVE BOOK?:

Expensive: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I think it was almost 30$…

Inexpensive: in recent memory, Beastly Bones.

WRATH

WHAT AUTHOR DO YOU HAVE A LOVE/HATE RELATIONSHIP WITH?:
I have to agree with Icebreaker on this one. Steven Moffat. Easy. He started off great, but I think being the show runner to two shows went to his head a little…

GLUTTONY

WHAT BOOK HAVE YOU DEVOURED OVER AND OVER WITH NO SHAME?:
Oh…maybe Before I Fall? I’ve had it for awhile, and I like rereading it to help make my own writing more descriptive.

SLOTH

WHAT BOOK HAVE YOU NEGLECTED DO TO LAZINESS?:
Under the Dome by Stephen King. I wanna read it, but it’s huge! I honestly think it has as many pages as the Bible…

PRIDE

WHAT BOOK DO YOU TALK ABOUT IN ORDER TO SOUND LIKE AN INTELLIGENT READER?:
Any classic I’ve read for school, I guess. I don’t particularly brag about my reading. I only talk about books I like.

LUST

WHAT ATTRIBUTES DO YOU FIND ATTRACTIVE IN MALE OR FEMALE CHARACTERS?:
Uh…in what way? 😅. Typically I veer towards friendship envy than anything else. But for favorite characters…it depends on the characters. My tastes in favorite characters vary wildly.

ENVY

WHAT BOOK WOULD YOU LIKE TO RECEIVE AS A GIFT?:
So. Many. But due to price, The Six of Crows. It’s so pricey!

I’m not tagging anyone due to being tired (laziness..) and I’ve seen this tag a few times. So if you haven’t done this tag, consider yourself tagged!

  1. Great tag, Kate! I remember Stephen Moffat from Doctor Who but I never paid much attention which episodes were his and which weren’t… I’ve recently taken notice of the whole queerbaiting controversy on Sherlock, though, so I guess that’s what you were referring to?
Anyway, loved your answers! And would love to get Six of Crows myself ^^

    1. I liked his writing in the RTD era a lot! Each episode he wrote is one of my favorites. It’s just when he got in charge of two series, I think he developed a mild God complex, lol. Oh, it’s not the queerbaiting thing I’m annoyed about (I never shipped Sherlock and John, they’re best friends to me, and I never expected them to become a couple, y’know?) I just felt as though his writing became kinda sloppy, too engrossed in shock value and plot twists rather than actual, solid stories. It just irritates me.
Six of Crows..why are you so expensive?

      1. Ah I see. Well, sometimes that happens… Fame will get to some people. It’s a shame, though!
That’s good. I just never see these “attractions” or “sexual tension” people seem to see… I see “bromance” and deep friendship, nothing else.
Well, to be fair, shock value and plot twists sell a lot… So I can’t blame him. In another hand, he should think about his fans and what they expect him to deliver. People can absolutely change styles and evolve, but I think he went backwards in this case.

      2. Yeah. The stories in DW were overly complicated, and Sherlock was just all over the place.
I know! I also see “bromance” and deep friendship. Basically I see friendship goals, haha. Once you read TID, you’ll understand what I mean by a lot of friendships being Parabatai level.
True, but they were over the top. Convoluted and never properly explained. He definitely went backwards. It was just information and sensory overload in the end.

      3. Yeah, I guess if I look back some of the episodes were definitely a bit messy.
Oh can’t wait! I love that 🙂 I didn’t know the term was specific to TMI though… I thought it was a thing XD
In ToG you get that as well, and it’s one of my favorite relationships there ^^
I have a few others but my brain doesn’t want to cooperate right now…
Oh that’s not good at all. Hopefully, he’ll revert to his old ways!

      4. I LOVED Moffat’s work with RTD, and I enjoyed season 5 and 9, but not much else. Too much plot, not enough character development.
Well, it’s mainly in Clare’s books. Not just TMI.
Ooh, that’s nice to hear about TOG! We need more friendships in books, especially YA.
I know! His writing was so good years ago…maybe once he steps down from DW his writing will get better.
