The Miranda Sings Award+ Announcement

Oh gosh…this was a hard one. I had this tag on the back burner for MONTHS…always procrastinating. Well, I’m not procrastinating anymore! Thanks Tiana for tagging me for this and pushing (well, shoving me) out of my comfort zone! And don’t worry, I’ll post a normal post soon!

The Rules

  • Announce your win with a post, and link the blogger who nominated you.
  • Include the featured image on your blog post.
  • Nominate 10 bloggers (or as many as you can think of) and link your awardees in the post.
  • List 7 things you love about yourself. (This can be about your appearance, your personality, your achievements, etc.)
  • Don’t use negative connotation (i.e. Don’t say things like – “I’m prettier than an average person.” or “People have told me I’m smart.” You are pretty. You are smart.)

My answers:

  1. I am proud that I managed to self publish a book! (Which I loosely named my blog after)
  2. I like that I’m biracial. I get to experience two different cultures that way.
  3. I like my taste in fiction, for obvious reasons.
  4. I like that I have been able to learn to blog about a variety of things, rather than just a few subjects.
  5. I like that I try to be open minded to people and different views and opinions, but be logical at the same time.
  6. I like that my lowest grade this year in school was a B! It’s exciting!
  7. And I’m proud that as of a few days ago, I got over 200 followers! I never expected this to happen. I felt as though I just announced 100 followers… You guys are amazing!
An accurate depiction of how I felt once I got the follower notification.

  1. Its been a while since Ive gotten nominated for something. Thank you.😁
Although I am slightly dreading coming up with 7 things to boast about myself, you have done an awesome job. Keep up the good grades! Congrats!☺

      1. Miranda Sings started on YouTube but became a Netflix show recently. Basically, an actress/singer decided to create this annoying character/alter ego called Miranda Sings who is too confident for her own good. Hilarity ensues XD (P.S. Nobody knew she was fake at first.)
You can watch the videos on YouTube. I thought the show was ok, at least the first couple episodes, but not as funny as I was hoping it would be. Or maybe I was just kind of sick of Miranda at that point XD (She’s a bit of a handful)

  2. Thank you for tagging me, Kate! Congraz on 200 followers! I have yet to reach 100 yet but I’m hoping that I will hit 100 soon! That picture of Yato at the end cracked me up. XD

      1. I love Noragami! I watch anime really often. Yeah, it is really funny how he always fantasize about being rich and having tons of followers but at the end of the day, he is still a god wearing a jersey. Since he always spend all his coins buying useless fortune telling talisman😂😂 I ship Yato and Hiyori. The both of them are so cute together! <3<3

      2. I didn’t know that! What other anime do you watch? I know, his dreams are just so unrealistic (and contradictory). And it’s like…Yato, how have you not realized all that fortune telling stuff is fake? And I also ship them! They’re really cute. It’s like, Yato, Hiyori, and Yukine are one small family and it’s really adorable.

      3. I watch alot of anime. I used to watch the latest season anime a few years back but stopped for 1 year as I was concentrating on my studies. I’m catching up on previous season anime now. Here are some popular anime I watched and love, Haikyuu, AOT, SAO, KNB, Tokyo Ghoul, Guilty Crown, ReLife, Ao Haru Ride, Noragami. 😀😀 I have a feeling that Yato will actually have a legit shrine if he didn’t spend all those money on those fortune telling stuff. Oh wells, that is what makes him so funny and lovable. 😂😂 Yeah, the 3 of them are so cute. 😍 But! Kazuma is my bias in this anime. 😙😙😙

      4. Ooh, I like AOT, Tokyo Ghoul, and Noragami too. They’re all good! And yeah, Yato may just have an actual shrine if he just didn’t waste what little money he has. And oh my gosh, I just finished Bishamon and Kazuma’s backstory and why she hated Yato so much. 😢 I wasn’t expecting that….

      5. Yeah, it is really sad. Bishamon is very kind at heart and she wants to help any wandering spirits by bringing them into her household. Her kindness have always been her downfall. I wouldn’t blame her for doing that since I would’ve done the same if I’m in her shoes. Have you watched season 2? I don’t think Bishamon will hate Yato anymore after season 2. After all, Yato did that in order to safe her life.

      6. Exactly. Underneath her harsh demeanor, she’s actually surprisingly kind and motherly, virtues that are her downfall. I can’t truly blame her for hating Yato (although I do think that after centuries of hatred, her feelings should’ve cooled down a little. Although, since she didn’t know the whole story, I can kind of see why she didn’t). And yes, I am in the middle of season 2! I don’t think she’ll hate him anymore either, maybe not like him, but be a bit more neutral, since she knows the whole story now.

      7. Yeah, I don’t blame her for hating him since she didn’t know the truth previously. But I’m glad that she finally know the truth now. I kindda feel that Kazuma should have told her the truth earlier. After watching season 2, I’m sure you will want season 3 to come out. XD

      8. True. But at the same time, her mental health seems to be kind of shaky afterwards (likely PTSD or survivor’s guilt) so I can sort of see why he hid it from her. But at the same time, a lot of trouble could’ve been avoided. It’s definitely a gray area.

  3. UM, YAYAYAYAYYAYAYAY, Kate about the 200 followers!! You deserve them and soooo many more! ❤ And also, that's so cool that you have a self-published book! That's an amazing accomplishment, and I love how it inspired your blog title. And I love what you said about loving to blog about a variety instead of just one thing – I think limiting is where you lose the fun of it. Wonderful post, and thanks so much for the tag!! Great job, and super big congrats!!

    1. Thanks! Aww, that’s really sweet, Mandy! I know, I started writing it a while back and finally got around to self publishing in November. It’s not the best, but I don’t regret naming my blog after it. Yeah, I don’t want to get bored from blogging about one thing, and so I blog about a ton of stuff. It’s a little messy. I guess that’s where the “and other calamities” part of my blog name comes from. And no problem, I look forward to your answers!

  5. Thank you so much for nominating me! I’m back from hiatus so I saw this a little late. 🙂 This looks like a really fun award, thanks again! (Psst, I finally found volume 18 of Noragami during my hiatus. I’m silently fangirling, haha.)
