Mid Year Book Freakout Tag

Time is of the essence with this one, so here it is! Thanks Mandy for tagging me for this fun tag! Please check out her blog; it has so many books and creative posts, like her Princesses Read posts!

The Tag:

1. Best Book You’ve Read So Far in 2017:

Oh gosh….so many… here are just a few (I’m cheating ’cause one technically isn’t a book, rather a webcomic, but who cares?

This has been a great half year for books.

2. BEST SEQUEL OF 2017 SO FAR?:

I just finished this! Expect a review soon.

3. NEW RELEASE YOU HAVEN’T READ YET, BUT WANT TO?:

I started reading this at a store, and boy, do I get such a Broadchurch vibe from it! That’s probably why I want to read it so bad.

4. MOST ANTICIPATED RELEASE OF THE SECOND HALF OF 2017?:

I…can’t…wait! I’ve waited so long for this!

5.  BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT?:

Um…I guess the majority of The Mortal Instruments series. I really liked a few of them, but some of them were just…no. The Infernal Devices and The Dark Artifices are better.

6.  BIGGEST SURPRISE?:

The Noragami manga and anime. I thought it would just be fine, but nothing special. Instead, I enjoy it much more than I thought I would!

7. FAVORITE NEW AUTHOR (DEBUT OR NEW TO YOU) ?:

I can’t think of any debut authors, so William Ritter, author of the Jackaby series.

8. NEWEST FICTIONAL CRUSH?:

I don’t really have one….😅

9. NEWEST FAVORITE CHARACTER?:

Too many….anyway, I’ll list one from each of the newest things I’ve gotten into.

Book: Either Ty or March Blackthorn from The Dark Artifices

TV show: Yato from Noragami

Movie: Diana from Wonder Woman (Yes, I finally saw it!)

Webtoon:  Naga from I Don’t Want This Kind of Hero

10. BOOK THAT MADE YOU CRY?:

I don’t really cry…but a book where I got way too emotionally involved was The Infernal Devices, and a Webtoon was American Ghost Jack.

11. BOOK THAT MADE YOU HAPPY?:

Maybe the Durarara light novel, and for a Webtoon, I have to admit I’m enjoying Behind the GIFs a lot.

12. FAVORITE BOOK TO MOVIE ADAPTATION YOU’VE SEEN THIS YEAR?:

Well, I saw Hidden Figures a bit back, and now I’m reading the book!

13. FAVORITE REVIEW YOU’VE WRITTEN THIS YEAR?:

Three that come to mind would be my reviews for Bastard, American Ghost Jack, and A Study in Charlotte.

14. MOST BEAUTIFUL BOOK YOU BOUGHT OR RECEIVED SO FAR THIS YEAR?:

Yes, I finally bought this! And from what I’ve read, the writing is just as beautiful as the cover.

15. WHAT BOOKS DO YOU NEED TO READ BY THE END OF THE YEAR?:

Lord of Shadows, Into the Water, Ghostly Echoes, and The Carnellian Crow!
I’m not tagging anyone, as I feel everyone has done this. BUT, if you haven’t and are interested, please comment that you haven’t done this tag, and I’ll tag you!

  1. Oooooh, I love reading your answers. 😀 They were fantastic! I’m super interested to see your thoughts on Ghostly Echoes and The Night Circus. And goodness, I really need to get into Stoker and Holmes. I know how much you love them, and I’m super into Stoker. And BROADCHURCH vibes? Definitely have to investigate that as well. Wonderful job with the tag!!

    1. I know! I just can’t find Ghostly Echoes anywhere. (Sigh). And yeah, Stoked and Holmes is awesome! It’s really underrated. It may sound like fanfiction at first, but trust me, it isn’t. And wait, you’ve seen Broadchurch? (Screams) Oh my gosh! I didn’t know that!

      1. Oh no! D: My friend ordered it so I got to steal it from her, but sorry that it’s hiding from you. D: And lol, ooooh, I don’t mind fanfic with those two epic names to it. I’ll definitely have to move it up the TBR. and yes! I saw the original and then I did watch the American version of it (Gracepoint). I totally may have watched it for the David Tennant factor and then fell in love with the actual show. XD

      2. I know! Whenever I go to Barnes and Noble, I’m like, “Do they have it? Do they have it?” And they never do. 😢 And yes, move it up the TBR! It’s painfully underrated, and I need to have more people to fangirl with. And YES! Broadchurch is one of my favorite shows! And how was Gracepoint? Honestly, having watched both Broadchurch and Doctor Who, I can say David Tennant is one of my favorite actors. Like really, that man can act.

      3. Oh no. v.v That’s so sad. Maybe they will have them closer to when the fourth one came out? I shall definitely do it then! 😀 And Gracepoint was really good! I will admit that I did watch it before I watched Broadchurch, so I kind of missed a tiny bit of the original. It follows it a lot except for the ending. But yessssssssssss. I want him to be in everything.

      4. Yeah…I need to find it soon.
I saw Broadchurch about two years ago now, and I kinda was like…why would they make an American version of it? I typically find American adaptions of out of country media to not be that great, personally. But then again, David Tennant is in it, so it can’t be 100% bad.

      5. Lol yes! It did get a little twisty, too. :O
And lol, no, I totally agree. I think they did it because Netflix hadn’t hit it’s prime quite yet and everyone wanted to watch it without paying for it. But really…he made the show. XD

      6. Yes!! Sometimes I would watch him and I’m like…I’m just going to wait for him to crack up like the Doctor and then he just kept being serious and I’m like oh dear. But goodness, he did so well with both.
