Listicle Tag

Thank you Birdie for tagging me for this! This is a really cool, versatile tag, I love it. You should totally check out Birdie’s blog; she has awesome reviews and tags. 

The definition of a listicle is: 

Rules

• Create your own listicle tag, using the prompt from the person who tagged you.
• Tag the creator of the post (not-so-modern-girl!) so that I can read all your brilliant posts and see how the joy of listicles is being spread.
• Nominate as many people as you want!
• Set those 5 people the subject/prompt of their listicle post!

Birdie’s prompt was difficult, to say the least, but I did it. It was 5 exceptional book to movie adaptations. This list is in no particular order.

1. Harry Potter series: They did a fantastic job in this movie franchise. Recreating the books is a daunting task, and while the movies are certainly not as good as the books (there’s so much in each book to show!) that’s okay; they’re still good pieces of cinema.

2. The Shawshank Redemption: This is one of the very few book to movie adaptations I prefer just a bit over the original novella. I don’t know, maybe it was the acting? The music? The cinematography? Something about it struck me as more haunting and in your head than the novella (even though the novella was amazing!)

3. The Martian: This was a really accurate adaptation. It told the same story (although it was less detailed than the book), yet kept the same humor that was active in the book. It’s been a while since I watched the movie or read the book, but I remember thinking that the movie got a lot of the details right.

4. Rebecca: Even though I read some trivia where it turns out Alfred Hitchcock may have taken method acting a little too far with this (mainly with the main actress) there is no doubt that this was an amazing adaptation. Each actor was perfectly cast, and the cinematography captured Manderly perfectly. 

5. Stand By Me: Taken from the same novella compilation where The Shawshank Redemption was, Stand By Me was originally known as The Body. It’s such a similar adaptation, and each of the child actors they cast were perfect. They captured the spirit of the novella in this, and it became a favorite adaptation of mine.

My prompt is: 5 psychological thriller or mystery pieces of fiction, (that can include books, movies, TV shows and anime, or webcomics) that you’ve either read or watched, or want to read or watch.
