The Uniquely Me Tag

Okay, I was tagged for this a while ago by Icebreaker @ Icebreaker 694. I have been procrastinating this for a while…but it’s time to get it over with!

The Rules:

1 Thank the person that nominated you for this tag and link to their blog (spread the love, basically).

2 Write as many things that are unique to you as possible: these can be things that you do, say, like or have that make you different to other people or let you stand out. It can be what defines you as a person, a little thing about you that is just simply you or something little known that you think makes you up as a person.

3 Nominate up to 10 bloggers or as many as you like; there isn’t a limit.

4 You can take this tag as seriously or non-seriously as you like; you can laugh whilst doing it or feel contemplative: this is about you, after all.

5 After you’ve written this and if you ever feel like there’s nothing to you but what other people have already said and done, look back to your post and remember that it isn’t true.

The List:

  • I apparently seem really nice and innocent to other people? I dunno, but one time at Writer’s Guild (the writers club at my school, basically) a girl admitted that when I read one of my stories one time (a thriller) she was at once surprised that I wrote stuff like that and was vaguely disturbed. And another friend read some of my stuff and was surprised by the amount of cussing in it. I guess deep down I’m secretly a very angry person. Huh.
  • I am a crazy cat lady. Anyone who spends even a few minutes on my blog should know this.
  • I can’t write my suspense stories in the third person and past tense. I can write them in the first person and present tense, and in the third person present tense, but I think writing it in the last tense depersonalizes me or something. I am so jealous of thriller/horror writers who can write in the third person and past tense, like Stephen King and Thomas Harris. (I am so addicted to Silence of the Lambs right now)
  • I’m not just interested in reading or writing about psychological stuff, I genuinely enjoy psychology.
  • I love soundtrack music, as in the background music to movies and TV shows and anime.
  • I keep coming up with ideas to write when I’m trying to write a specific story. Sigh.
  • It seems that my finding a book that causes me to tear through the pages is going through a pattern; every two months. I found I Hunt Killers in July/August, The Knife of Never Letting Go in September, Little Monsters in November, and now Silence of the Lambs in January.
  • I procrastinate watching TV shows. I need to catch up to the X-Files and start watching Firefly.

      1. Haha, I haven’t watched anything in a while. I should get back to FMA too, or just any anime in general. 😅
I’ve been super busy as well, but I had extra time this weekend and was able to finish it.
You take all the time you need, there’s no rush! 😉 I get having a lot of homework, I’ve been getting a large pile of it as well. *sigh* I wish there was more free time. (But we all know I’d just use that time to play games. XD)

      2. I feel you. I’m just so busy…and not busy at the same time. Gah.
I think my going on vacation screwed around with my schedule, so I’m desperately making things up. So that doesn’t equate to much reading time (especially since I can’t bring it to school. It’s so heavy!)
And yeah, I would just goof off with extra time too. 😅

  1. Facts are always so hard to come up with about yourself. I loved your facts, though, Kate! Loved a visit from your kitties as usual. And I loved finding out about your writing style. Super interesting about how you can write. Sometimes tense and pov really do change how you feel. Wonderful tag, Kate! ❤

    1. Yep. That’s why this tag took me forever to do.
I just knew the cats would be welcome!
Yep. I noticed it while working on my current story (which is taking forever to write, sigh). Tense and POV completely change how I feel when I write. Usually I find my writing first person present tense communicates the feelings best, but I’ve found third person present tense good too!

  2. Thank you so much for tagging me! I very much enjoyed reading these unique facts about you! I always find it extremely hard to come up with facts about myself 😂 I loooovvveee the photos of your cats, they’re adorable ❤ and I used to have a psychology class in school and I found that I enjoy it very much too! And it’s so interesting to read about your writing style! It’s so cool how everyone has different preferences when it comes to their writing 🙂

  3. Hahaha it’s funny how people can have such a different perspective of us… I get that all the time and it’s both puzzling and fascinating to me.
Again, your kitties are soooo cute! I love whenever they make an appearance on your blog ❤
Kudos to you for reading Silence of the Lambs and loving it. I tried once to watch the movie and couldn't. Though I was unfortunate enough to find a clip of Anthony Hopkins doing that awful slurping sound on YouTube by accident and was scarred for life xD
Thank you for the tag! This is a bit of an intimidating one but I'll be sure to come up with something 😉

    1. Well, I am a crazy cat lady, so I had to include Dwight and Buddy somehow.
I haven’t seen the movie yet, but I loved the book! I don’t get scared by books, so maybe that’s why I liked it so much? And I haven’t seen that scene yet…hmm…what scene was that, I wonder? And sorry you were so freaked out, but I can’t help but laugh at that.
It is intimidating, but if I could do it, you can!
