I am back with the part 2 of my first Sunshine Blogger Award! I’d split the post in two because I was nominated by four people, and now I am doing the next two! Thanks Tiana@The Book Raven and Icebreaker694 for nominating me! If you haven’t checked out their blogs, I can’t recommend them enough; Tiana has amazing book reviews and lists, and Icebreaker posts about books, anime, and manga!
- Rules:
- Thank the person who nominated you.
- Answer 11 questions set by the person who nominated you.
- Nominate
11bloggers to receive the award and write them 11 new questions to answer. (Sorry, I can’t nominate 11 today…I’m just really tired…)
Tiana’s Questions:
If you had to choose between obtaining the power of strength, the power of invisibility, or the power to mind read, which would you choose and why?
Probably invisibility. Strength doesn’t appeal to me, and I’d be invading people’s privacy with mind reading.
What song got stuck in your head most recently? How do you feel about that song?
Take My Leave Of You by Olafur Arnalds and Arnor Dan. It’s the end credits song to Broadchurch season 3…which I can’t watch because we have no cable.
Do you believe that we are fated to go down a certain path or that we choose that path we take? Why do you feel that way?
I believe in free will, so while I think there are a few fixed points in time (like in Doctor Who!), I think we change our paths.
What side character from the book your currently reading would you be and why?
I’m currently reading City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare, but I can’t say I’d be any of the characters. My personality doesn’t match with any existing characters.
Do you have any pets? If you do picture them here:
I think everyone knows I have two cats at this point, but here’s a picture!
If you could instantly learn any language in the world which would it be and why?
Any of them! Languages are not my thing, so I’d be happy to learn any of them.
What was the last book you read that inspired you? What is your favorite quote from that book? (Sorry for the extra step, I just love quotes!)
Oof… I finished rereading The Book Thief just yesterday. A quote would be: “There are a multitude of stories…that I allow to distract me as I work, just as the collectors do. I pick them up in the unluckiest, unlikeliest places and I make sure to remember them as I go about my work. The Book Thief is one such story.”
What place from your childhood do you wish you could see again for the first time?
Any of the countries I visited when I was younger. My grandma used to take us on vacations to really cool places, but I can’t remember much anymore.
What is your favorite time? Why is it your favorite?
I love learning about the Renaissance. The art was so pretty! But I also liked learning about the twenties.
Who is/was your favorite teacher? What did they teach and why are they your favorite? (Give them a little thank you for being awesome)
One of them would be my third grade teacher. She was so strict, but so kind. And my creative writing teacher from last year was amazing; he would give us time to work on writing and sometimes let us watch The Twilight Zone.
If you could ask your favorite character a question what would it be?
Well…it’d be useless, but I would just try to get someone, anyone from Dr. Frost to explain what the heck happened to Frost for him to (seemingly) develop Marie Antoinette Syndrome. It’s been over 100 chapters and we still don’t know.
Icebreaker’s Questions:
What type of YouTube videos do you usually watch?
Simon’s Cat. Or the Line Webtoon trailers for their comics.
If you could undo one thing that happened in the history of the Earth, what would it be?
I wouldn’t. Because if Doctor Who has taught me anything it’s that wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff would happen.
What is your most anticipated book on your TBR?
Either The Last of August or the Tokyo Ghoul manga.
Do you have a favorite book publisher? If so then who?
I don’t have one; I just like books.
What is the most random picture you found on the internet?
Uh.. I’ll post a random picture. I’m too scared to google, “most random picture ever.”
(Hehe…this isn’t from the Internet, but it was random…I was just scrolling through the bonus episode of Nigtmare Factory to suddenly see my comment…)
What’s your opinions on graphic novel remakes of an original series?
I haven’t really read any of these (that I am aware of), so I really can’t say.
What do you like to do in your free time?
Way too much! Read, blog, watch TV, play with my cats, write, and other stuff.
If you could bring a book/TV show character to life, who would it be?
I don’t know. It would probably end in disaster no matter who I chose.
If you could choose your last words, what would they be?
Either, “Aw, I was hoping to stick around to see the finale of (insert TV show)” or, “I’m dying. Meh, I never really liked the world anyways.” Something sassy or funny, basically.
What type of animal would you be if you could turn into one?
A cat in a happy home. I’d be spoiled rotten.
If you had to choose one book that you could read forever, what book would it be?
Dang! That’s hard. I would probably choose a Webtoon…they update every week, so that way there would always be something new so I wouldn’t get tired of it.
MY QUESTIONS: (I may recycle some old questions…I don’t have enough energy. Please don’t kill me!)

Thank you for the tag! I enjoy comics/manga a lot, so that link to your other post was quite helpful. 🙂 I’ll be sure to do this tag, though it might be a bit because I just did the Mystery Blogger one.

Ooh, you like manga and comics? Cool! And that’s okay; I’m really behind on tags myself, so I get it.

Very much so! I’m not as up to date as I’d like, but I have a back catalog that I’ve got to read again and complete. 🙂

Great answers! I love Simon’s Cat videos! They’re so cute! I want to read The Last of August too! Also I was thinking of reading the Tokyo Ghoul manga first, then watching the anime. Overall great answers! (Especially the DW one 😀 haha.)

Simon’s Cat is beyond adorable. And The Last of August..ugh, I want to read it so bad. And yeah, maybe read the manga before the anime. That could help. From what I’ve read so far, I like the manga more. Although the anime is worth watching just for the animation and soundtrack. And thanks; I was just, “y’know what? I’ll put in a Doctor Who answer.”

I want to read it so bad too! I want to know more about our Moriarty in this series! I’ll probably read the manga first, but I’ll definitely watch the anime after. I want to hear the soundtrack. 🙂 And you can never go wrong with DW.

I know! It’s like, how evil will he be? Or will he? (This series likes to skew things). And yeah! Cool! I think the manga will probably do a better job at resolving plot holes. And honestly, the fight scene at the end of episode 12 is so well animated and choreographed, it’s a big reason to watch the anime, lol.

It’s like at first, you may think he’s not really involved with anything evil. But then you think otherwise. I’m glad you say that about the animation! I really like well animated shows that have a smooth way of moving the screen/characters around.

I know that I’ll be second guessing myself the whole time. And yes, the animation is so beautiful! It’s very smooth and well choreographed. Especially fight scenes!

Ooh, I will be too. 😂 I just found out that there is a manga for A Study In Charlotte (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/32054588)! It looks so cool! When it’s translated into English I want to read it! Also I can’t wait to watch/read Tokyo Ghoul now.

Wait, what? Oh my gosh, that looks amazing! Do you know when it’ll be translated? I need to read this ASAP! And yes…lemme know when you read/watch Tokyo Ghoul!

It doesn’t give anything away for when it’ll be translated, but I hope it will be soon! I want to read it so badly!! And I will let you know when I read Tokyo Ghoul! 🙂

Ugh, I hope so! The art looks amazing! Maybe I’ll attempt to email the writer, lol…or maybe she has something in Twitter. (I looked in her website, nothing). And thanks!
