Liebster Award

I was nominated by the awesome Jenna Nicole for this award. You should check her out; she has so much bookish material, not just reviews, a great variety!

  • Acknowledge the blog who nominated you and display the award.
  • Answer the 11 questions the blogger gives you.
  • Nominate 11 blogs. (I’ve been tired lately….sorry, I’ll still nominate people!)
  • Notify those blogs of the nomination.
  • Give them 11 questions to answer.

The Questions:

1. What is your favourite animal? What would you say is your spirit animal?

Easy. Cats for both of course, I usually mention them someway or another…

2. Choose: Country Life or City Life?

City life, because there’s more to do. While I like being outside, the city has way more to do.

3. How do you choose your next book to read?

I just choose what I’m in the mood for; I don’t have a strict schedule for books, usually I end up failing. And it’s not just books: my anime schedule is completely off.

4. What is your favourite genre to read? Do you find it’s changed over recent years?

Mystery and psychological thriller is still my favorite, though I have started to enjoy thrillers more and more. Same with fantasy and science fiction, and even some paranormal stories.

5. Pick your top five book characters.

Wait, what? Woah, this just got hard all of a sudden! Let’s just choose some characters from my latest read books, okay…? I have too many favorites. And I can choose two from the same series, right? (Besides my school reading, I’ve only finished three books recently. I’ve started to read a lot of books recently though)

Jazz Dent and Howie from I Hunt Killers

August Flynn from This Savage Song

Mina and Grayling from The Carnelian Crow (Yes, I finished it! Expect a review sometime soon)

Not sure how accurate a list this is, but oh welll…blame my indecisive nature.

6. If you were a character, what role would your character play (i.e. main character, the sage, the jokester, etc.)?

A side character who watches all the chaos on the sidelines but never actually gets involved. I’m not in the mood to die or suffer, thanks. (Sorry for the somewhat morose answer, I just finished Fate/Zero, where everyone suffers at least a little. Don’t mind me…)

7. Where’s your favourite reading spot (copying Patty because I really love this question)?

The chair in my room is comfy, but I like the park too. It’s free of any distractions. Which lets me concentrate on reading.

8. Choose: Daytime or Nighttime?

I’m a night person who wants to be a day person, so this is awkward…

9. If you could wish for anything, what would it be?

Is this not the question that was involved in the aforementioned show I just mentioned..Needless to say, I am wary of this sort of thing. There’s usually some dark twist involved…

10. Describe your beautiful self in five words.

Crud, this is the Miranda Sings Award all over again, isn’t it…? Anyway: open-minded, imaginative, cat-lover, book-lover, hard-worker.

11. Why did you start blogging?

You can look at my anniversary post for that story, there’s a lot of it! 🙂

My Questions: (sorry if there are any repeats)

  1. What is the number one book on your TBR now?
  2. What is your latest favorite song!
  3. What’s a genre you don’t usually like, but have one exception for?
  4. What genre would you most like to write a story about.
  5. What is a piece of fiction that was like a punch to the feels?
  6. Have you ever enjoyed school assigned reading! If so, what?
  7. Where is your dream vacation?
  8. What world in fiction would you most like to visit?
  9. What creature from any fictional world would you like to see?
  10. Is there a piece of fiction you loved, but no one else seems to?
  11. Are there two colors that, in your opinion, never go together?

    1. I know. I’d happily be a side character if I could just watch the unfolding chaos without getting involved, that would be nice. The real world is dramatic enough for me, without the added crazy. I’d probably be killed off in the first chapter for being useless 😅
      And no problem!

  1. Oh my gosh this post made me laugh so hard! Number 5, 6, 9, and 10 made me giggle the most. Especially the “Wait, what? Woah, this just got hard all of a sudden!” comment lol! I haven’t watched Fate/Zero yet but I watched Fate/stay night years ago and know the feeling…(*love Archer*).

I’m also the same as you with number 8…I honestly which I could just not sleep but still be healthy. Hypothetically, if someone created a pill that gave you the nutrition and all the other things you need from sleep, I wouldn’t sleep…lol. I’m a weirdo.

Thank you for the compliment and for doing the tag/award!

    1. Haha, glad to hear it made you laugh! And yeah, all the other questions up to that point were easy, you pulled a fast one of me! And Fate/Zero is really good; I have a review up for season 1, and I’m working on a review of season 2. Which Fate/Stay have you seen? The original, or the Unlimited Blade Works? (I haven’t seen either, only Zero so far)

I enjoy sleeping enough, but I’m a night person. I want to be a morning person, but just can’t…(sigh)

And no problem! Thanks for tagging me!

      1. I really should! My problem with anime and TV shows is I re-watch them since the new stuff tends to just be copies of my favourites ha-ha! I love slice of life ones 🙂 OH AND ATTACK ON TITAN!

  2. Congrats on the award, Kate! So well-deserved ^^
Oh I knew you’d choose a cat… Cats are indeed so fluffy and wonderful, so it’s a great pick XD Just wish most would be less like “don’t touch me, human, I’m a god and you shall do as I please” and more like “gimme me a hug, you fool”.
I too don’t have any specific TBRs or anything like that, just go with the flow (and suffer in the process) hahaha
A side character who watches but never gets involved… Well, I think that’s the smartest move when it comes to some stories! So yeah, definitely agree lol
Thank you so much for the nomination, I’ll see when I can do it again 🙂

    1. Of course I would, I’m still me after all. And yep, funny story: it’s starting to get cold where I live, and suddenly my cats are even more cuddly than usual 😂. I know, I want to be more organized to have a TBR, but I’m too much of a mess.
Yes, definitely! I don’t want to get killed off, after all. Or go through a lot of emotional trauma. And no problem! Can’t wait to see it.

      1. Aaaww that’s so sweet! ❤ I love when my cat gets cuddly… Which she does on occasion, but not nearly as much as I wished lol (like when I get sick she comes and lays on top of me, which is super sweet but I'm like "really? I need to get sick so you'll come cuddle with me??" 😂)
Oh well. Yup, I'd very likely join you since I'm the type of reader whose decisions never seem to align with those of the characters. Sometimes I wonder if there' something wrong with me… But I bet it's just them 😂

      2. Haha, my cats are fairly snuggly on a daily basis, but only on specific parts of the day…most of the time.
Exactly. My choices vary so much in comparison…and yes, let’s just keep saying it’s them and not us, okay? Because it’s true…right? 😅
