One Lovely Blog Award 2

I'd like to thank Simplistic Insights for nominating me for this award…back in May. I am so late. Sorry!

The Rules:

  1. Thank the person that nominated you and leave a link to their blog.
  2. Post about the award.
  3. Share 7 facts about yourself.
  4. Nominate at most 15 people.
  5. Tell your nominees the good news!

My 7 Facts:

1. I just joined Goodreads, so if anyone wants to give me advice on what to do there, I'd really appreciate it!

2. I got to see Kiki's Delivery Service (an amazing movie by Studio Ghibli) in a special showing at a movie theater. It was amazing to see on a big screen.

3. I am afraid of running out of ideas for my blog. Does anyone want to share what they like most about my blog with me, that way I can write more about that subject to help prevent a possible block?

4. Remember that time a comment I made on Webtoons found itself in a special episode of Nightmare Factory? Well, I talked to a friend earlier this year, and said something along the lines of, "If Snailords ever comes to a ComiCon near us, I'm gonna print out a photo of that comment and ask him to sign it!" …And then he did come to ComiCon. So I actually did print out a photo and brought it to him…and he signed it. And remembered me from the comments section. I nearly exploded, I was so excited. (I also got some character writing advice from Stephen McCranie, who writes Space Boy, a Webtoon that has some of the best characters I've ever read). Would you guys like a post just talking about ComiCon (haha) ?

5. As I said in my latest Fierce Fangirl Friday, I recently bought The Carnelian Crow, and am expecting it sometime today or tomorrow.

6. After having seen how dark RWBY volume 3 was, I decided to watch a little RWBY Chibi (a side series) to cheer myself up. If you ever watch RWBY chibi, please put on the captions. They make everything 10x better.

7. I am trying to write a review for the second season of Attack on Titan, but I'm having a hard time getting motivated. Don't ask me why, I have no idea.

I nominate:

Mischenko
Sarah
River Moose Books
Icebreaker
Birdie
Mandy

No pressure if you don't want to do this award, or if you've done it recently!

  2. Thank you for nominating me! Also, you got to see Kiki at the theater! Lucky! My theater is playing Ghibli films throughout the summer too, but I didn’t get to see any. >_< Luckily I will see The Ancient Magus' Bride though. 😀
And blog ideas hmm… I was planning on doing a weekly q&a thing, but realized that I don't really have the time to do it. 😅 Maybe you can!
I'D LOVE A COMICON POST! I've never been to a con before, so I'd like to know more! I've seen several livestreams while animeexpo was going on, but that's pretty much it. ( ̄-( ̄)
I still haven't progressed in season 2 of RWBY, but I hear Volume 5 will be out soon, and I'm still excited for it. 🙂

    1. No problem! Yeah, they’re doing a lot of Ghibli movies lately at my theater, and my friends and I wanted to go see them throughout the year…but it turns out they all play once one of them leaves for college, so that sucks.
Maybe I could do a…well, not weekly Q&A, but maybe monthly? That’s a good idea. And oh, I’ve heard of Ancient Magus’ Bride, you’ll have to let me know how good it is!
And I’ll have to make sure to do a ComiCon post! I had one planned, but never got around to actually doing it. 😅 So I’ll make sure to do that.
Trust me. RWBY gets so much better! I enjoyed the first volume enough, but didn’t love it, but the second volume made me like it a lot more, and then volume 3…don’t get me started on what happens there. Just don’t look up fanart or ANYTHING until after unless you want MAJOR spoilers. I was spoiled and I’m still mad about it. Oh, and they get some pretty big name voice actors later on, the most notable being Vic Mignogna (I didn’t spell that right), who voiced Tamaki from OHSHC and Edward Elric from both Fullmetal Alchemist series. Others include Laura Bailey (also FMA, also Soul Eater) J. Michael Tatum (Black Butler, OHSHC, Steins;Gate), and Josh Grelle (Attack on Titan, Danganronpa, Psycho Pass). Sorry for the lengthy comment, just a lot of info to share!

      1. At least you got to see one. 😀 But yeah, it’s more fun with friends, I feel ya.
I’ll tell you how it goes! I’ve seen the first ep and it reminded me of some ghibli studio films because it was so magical! I want to read the manga too!
I can’t wait to see that post! And a monthly q&a sounds good! 😀
I made the mistake of spoiling RWBY by looking at fanart. I don’t know all the spoilers, but I know of one, and I got mad at myself for spoiling it. I’ll probably watch more later. I’m trying to watch My Hero Academy, but haven’t for a few days. Hopefully I’ll continue watching it in the morning tomorrow so that I can make a post about it.
And all those voice actors make me excited to start it again! (I’m a fan of J. Michael Tatum for Kyoya, Sebastian, and Tomoe. He’s also done Free [which I kind of stopped watching, but might get back into, it depends] and I remember him when I started Steins;Gate [I need to get back into that one].) But also for Edward Elric, because I’ve been thinking of watching FMA sometime… Thanks for telling me about all of them!
And lengthy comments are fun! 😀

      2. It was awesome to see on the big screen.
YES, please let me know how it goes! If it gives a Ghibli vibe, I’m all for it!
I will definitely get to work on the post, and I’ll try to get to work on monthly Q&As.
UGH, spoilers. (Sigh) I spoiled something for myself to by looking at fanart. Gotta be more careful. But yeah, try to watch more later. The animation and story gets much better. I look forward to your post on My Hero Academia as well!
        J. Michael Tatum is an amazing voice actor. Usually I can recognize him pretty fast, but it took me longer here. (Here’s a hint: he voices a butler in volume 4. Ah, the irony!) I actually think my favorite role of his was Okabe from Steins;Gate. Don’t ask me why, it just is. I also started watching FMA Brotherhood around a year ago, but haven’t had time to finish it. I think not being emotionally prepared for one of the earliest episodes had a hand too. I remember going to school, sitting next to the friend who recommended the show to me, and just saying, “You didn’t warn me.” And she knew EXACTLY what episode I was talking about. You probably will too. And no problem! I know that knowing about all these VAs I really like being in future episodes was definitely a motivator for me.

      3. I will! Anything that gives off a Ghibli vibe is great in my book!
And I’d like to see your q&a posts!
I’ll try to! And I got sidetracked while watching it, but I’m hoping to finish season 1 very soon!
I really like his voice acting skills! My favorite was watching him in Kamisama Hajimemashita. It was the second show I’ve seen him in (first was Kyoya) but I really think he got the part down! And he plays a butler!!!?? His reputation lives on! 😂
Also I know how you feel. I’m unable to continue a lot of shows and books because I’m not emotional stable enough to go on. I still want to watch FMA, even if it’ll punch me in the feels with angst and heartache. And that’s friend goals right there, haha. 😀

  3. Thank you for nominating me!! Ah I made a GR account quite a while ago now but I don’t use it a whole lot because I have my blog to post reviews on! (so I probably don’t know a whole lot about how to use it lol) I do know you can join group discussions or whatever you call them on there which is pretty cool because they do buddy reads and all that fun stuff. As for post ideas…try making your own meme/tag/or even an AWARD and tag a bunch of people to spread it. It’s really cool reading other people’s answers to the questions you created. :))

  4. Ah, Kate, you enjoyed Goodreads. SUPER YAY. It’s a little addicting sometimes. I finally, finally joined a group on there (YA Book Bloggers), and it’s a lot of the amazing WordPress group and it’s super easy and fun to get a hang of. Before that, I had no real clue what I was doing. XD I really just use it to keep track of my books and my reviews. And oooooh RWBY goes dark? o.o Here I thought it was all light hearted fairytale stuff. XD Thanks so much for tagging me, Kate, and your answers were so much fun to read. And enjoy the Goodreads fun! ❤

    1. I am enjoying it so far! I’ll have to join that group too. I use Goodreads (so far) to keep track of my hectic TBR pile. And yes, RWBY gets really dark…don’t look up spoilers, they’re quite plot twisty. It was light hearted fairy tale stuff until volume 3. And no problem!

      1. Yesssssss, that would be amazing, Kate! ❤ I'm a moderator, so I'm a bit biased about the group. XD And yessssss. It's the only way I have some sort of control over the TBR as well. And lol, I knew about a few things in season 2 (although maybe it was season 3 which would make some sense). My friend decided to just full on spoil things while they were trying to sell me on it. XD But I'll definitely keep away from the spoilers. XD

      2. I’ll join as soon as I can! Ha, if you’re the moderator, it can’t be bad. 🙂 Hmm, maybe it was season 3 (if they were dark, lol) Season 2 was mostly fun and foreshadowing. Your friend doesn’t know how to convince people to watch something, giving out spoilers like that. Rude!

      3. Ahahahahaha IK. She just went all deep in fandom mode and then BAM. Tells me all about the deep stuff that happens in the later series. The good part is that I forget who the person was that the spoiler happened to so I guess that’s a good thing? XD

      4. Oh gosh…wow…that happened to a friend with Death Note. But at least you don’t remember who! I wasn’t so lucky. I found out in February, and didn’t forget, even while I momentarily dropped it. (Sigh) Why do I remember the most useless things?
